In 1996, Konan No.2 plant (120tons-cake/day, 29tons-ash/day) began operation. In 2005, Konan No.3 plant(120tons-cake/day, 13tons-ash/day) was opened.

Hyogo West Sewage Sludge Treatment plants in Japan are currently under construction (Operation will begin in March, 2010).

The number of ash melting type furnaces has been increasing recently. This is because the ash melting type is free from the odor trouble associated with sludge drying equipment, has stable operation and can be flexibly operated and expanded.
