Kobelco Eco-Solutions Vietnam receives order for the largest class

anaerobic Effluent Treatment Plant in Vietnam from Vina Kraft Paper

Kobelco Eco-Solutions Vietnam Co., Ltd. (KESV) (head office: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kobelco Eco-Solutions Co., Ltd. (KES) (head office: Kobe, Japan), was recently awarded a contract to supply an effluent treatment plant (ETP) package for the Vina Kraft Paper Mill project in My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park, Binh Duong Province, Vietnam. This project is being developed by Vina Kraft Paper Co., Ltd. (VKPC), one of the leading paper manufacturers in Vietnam and a group company of Thailand’s SCG Packaging.

The effluent treatment plant, which will use both anaerobic and aerobic technologies, will have the largest class treatment capacity in Vietnam. The plant will also use biological treatment processes and a color removal system for secondary and tertiary treatment. Only limited and experienced suppliers such as KESV, having excellent technology and engineering expertise, are able to supply this scale of anaerobic and aerobic treatment plants in Vietnam. Since contaminants in paper mill wastewater are considerable, comprehensive technical solutions including screening, balancing, anaerobic and aerobic treatment, color removal, and sludge stability is applied so that the effluent can meet the National Technical Standard. This order was attributed to the experience and competitiveness of KESV in Vietnam.

Realizing that the Vietnamese market has strong potential with high economic growth, KES established a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City in 2009, which then became a subsidiary in November 2010, in order to accelerate its water and wastewater businesses and introduce environmental technologies, studied and applied in Japan, to Vietnam as well as other countries in Southeast Asia. After five years of development, KESV has implemented a wide range of water and wastewater treatment projects in many different industries such as steel, galvanizing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and other fields. With its deep experience and technical expertise, KESV has successfully received this order from a very important strategic partner, VKPC.

In Vietnam, strict regulations are applied to industries that place a high load on the environment, such as paper, dying and galvanizing. KESV strives to contribute to Vietnam’s environment and industrial development by proposing the best solutions to its customers.
