Kobelco Eco Solutions establishes Hanoi Branch
Kobelco Eco-Solutions Co., Ltd. announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary KOBELCO ECO-SOLUTIONS VIETNAM CO., LTD.（hereinafter called KESV, Head Office: Ho Chi Minh city, Viet Nam), has established a branch in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
The purpose for establishing the Hanoi Branch is as follows:
KESV has implemented projects and accumulated a track record and experience in the southern area of Viet Nam until now. The purpose for establishing the Hanoi Branch in northern Viet Nam is to expand the entire business market, not only in the south, but also all areas of Viet Nam, and to provide marketing activities and services in northern Viet Nam. By establishing the Hanoi Branch, KESV is dedicated to the following three basic points:
① Provide water treatment plants and propose solutions for water treatment of factories invested from Japan.
・Support Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports.＊１
・Propose water treatment plants to meet customers’ requirements and conduct EPC (engineering, procurement,
construction) work.
・Provide after-services including O&M services (operation and maintenance) of water treatment plants after
handing over the plants.
② Provide public utilities (included ODA) and propose solutions for water infrastructure such as water supply plants
and sewage treatment plants.
③ Provide water treatment plants and propose solutions for water treatment for local companies and local
industrial parks.
（*1）When establishing a plant in Viet Nam, it is necessary to submit an environmental impact assessment report
before construction permit application.

Kobelco Eco-Solutions’ Group Activities and Performance in Viet Nam
One of the policies of Kobelco Eco-Solutions is to pursuit business opportunities in overseas markets under its medium-term business plan from fiscal 2013 to 2015. In November 2010, Kobelco Eco-Solutions established a subsidiary in Ho Chi Minh City, in southern Viet Nam, in order to expand the water treatment business.
In Viet Nam, the Kobelco Eco-Solutions Group has accumulated experience for water and wastewater treatment plants in the food, steel and plating fields and for industrial parks. The Group carries out O&M (operation and maintenance) services for some of the above factories.
In addition, the Kobelco Eco-Solutions Group is not only a supplier of water treatment plants, but also participates, as one of the investors, in the water supply business for an environmentally friendly industrial park project with investment from JICA.
The Kobelco Eco-Solutions Group intends to continue contributing to the development of Viet Nam by finding the best solutions for the diversified needs of water users.
