Kobelco Eco-Solutions establishes London Office in UK

Kobelco Eco-Solutions Co., Ltd. has established its London Office, in the United Kingdom.

1. Background for establishment

In the UK, demand for a construction of waste-to-energy (WtE) facilities remains strong based on the UK government’s initiatives to reduce the landfill volume of the waste by way of maintaining the CfD (Contract for Difference) scheme (the UK version of Feed-in-Tariff scheme). In October, 2018, we were awarded the contract for the engineering, procurement of main equipment (gasification furnace, melting furnace, boiler and others) and supervisory service.
We have established our London Office, with an aim to enhance our capability of the sales and marketing, and project execution for the WtE plant business in the UK. We are planning to extend our business field also to the other European region than the UK in future. Furthermore, the function for technical information research will be integrated into the London representative office after our Dusseldorf office in Germany is closed.

2. Purposes for establishment

(I) To collect information for sales and marketing in the UK and other European region.
(II) To support a project execution in the region.
(III)To search and investigate new technologies. (after the Dusseldorf office is closed.)
